"I just came back from a 4 day stay at the Tar Heel Motel. I give them Five stars across the board and I really didn't expect that. I was cleaning out my glove compartment in my car a few weeks ago and found a business card from them from 7 years ago that stated it was good for one free room anytime. They honored it! A different manager gave it to me 7 years ago was when the air conditioner broke in my room. Anyway, our room we just had looked virtually brand new. Clean, fresh paint, clean carpet, great water pressure, full sized refrigerator. Very nice management and staff that went out of their way to give me credit for the free room from 7 years ago. By the way, the price per night in the motel with 2 queen beds and all of what I just described was $65! You easily expect to pay double that or much more and not get the same quality as I found. And yes, this is also across the street from the beach."

"The best I've slept in a while, the shower looked like it wasn't that great bit as soon as I turned it on I was surprised to see that it was actually amazing, great customer service and great view of the sunset."

"Booked online without knowing really what we were getting. However this place ROCKED!! Across the street from the beach, nice place to eat right beside it and hug grassy area behind it for games. Simple, old, cozy and very clean little motel. Full fridge in the room with nice comfy beds. Table to eat with big chairs and microwave. Lots of storage space for your luggage. We stayed in a 2 double bed room with a roll away and still was bigger than some rooms we have stayed in before. Friendly staff and very helpful with suggesting things to do. My kids loved the pool area and they even have grills for you to cook out with if needed. Will def go back and stay here again when visiting the OBX."

"Stayed here for a weekend trip recently and loved it! Literally steps away from the beach and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's certainly not a luxury resort but it doesn't try to be. The rooms are clean, comfortable, roomy and quiet. I definitely plan on returning for my next trip to OBX."

Had low expectations going in, but was quickly turned around once we got there. Beach access across the street, pool onsite, and a great restaurant beside it. Very friendly and helpful staff.
