"Guys, this motel is a hidden jewel in the Outer Banks. I come down to the to fish every year and have a 5 star time share, but this title I came down for a few days and was surprised. The Tar Heel Motel was the perfect place for a getaway. The staff (Beth) was so helpful and accommodating. The motel was so clean and secure. Love the no key electronic entry. Yeah, if you want to pay for more do lt, but, didn't come to exhaust $ A truly awesome hidden jewel.. i came to enjoy the area and this was surprising. Clean, clean , clean."

"I stayed my Anniversary week. It's all newly renovated. About 150 feet to a public beach Access! Around a 1/4 mile from a pier! The beach is a family beach! The "DUNES" Restuarant is behind the Tar Heel Motel. Very reasonably priced, and the family will love it. The Manager Beth and her working crew are all great people! Enjoy your stay!"

"Fantastic location and great place to sleep. They even worked with us to have early check-in. The rooms are somewhat small but you're obviously here for the beach. There is quick beach access right across the street. There are some good restaurants right next door. Wifi works well. TV was a little weird. It seemed like the cable box wasn't turned all the way up and having the TV full volume was not loud enough. Shower head could use a re-design. It only can hit your head (lack of angles available)."

"Great motel! The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. The motel is centrally located and there is a very short walk to the beach, stores, fishing pier, and restaurants. Your parking spot is conveniently located next to your hotel room; however, if you have a truck or SUV, parking might be a challenge. Luckily there is overflow parking spots for larger vehicles and that is a plus. Also, the pool was clean and very refreshing after being out in the heat. My only suggestion or hope is they install coin operated laundry machines. There are no close laundry facilities near by. Having said that, pack enough clothes for the number of days you will be staying in the area. Overall, its a great motel, great staff, great location, and a great price. My family and I can't wait to stay again next year."
